BVOE TEASER FILM
BVO Graphic Novel Treatment
Created by Christopher Reyes in 2020, BVOE is a unique plot based, high-tech immersive experience for all ages. BVOE utilizes Story, mind blowing scenography, cinematic wizardry, and Extended reality to immerse participants in fantastic worlds.
BVOE’s Quadrant 360 is a proof of concept that I’ve undertaken without materials or budget because I’m passionate about immersive experiential projects. This project is the result of over a year’s work, community donations, reclaimed materials and equipment, collaborators, volunteers, and the newly formed creative space 360 at Off the Walls Arts, where the installation currently lives. I could not have accomplished so much without the help of the community. I am deeply grateful to my family and friends who have accompanied me on this journey.
Thank you for your support,
Christopher Reyes
BACKGROUND
In 2019 Christopher Reyes and a handful of volunteers built a BVO “proof of concept.” With minimal funding and reclaimed materials Christopher embarked on an epic year-long project that helped to solidify the conceptual foundations, and formulate the world of Baron Von Opperbean.
Funds, materials, donations, and pre-tickets were sourced from the local community. Christopher blogged his progress over the course of the year as part of the awareness strategy, converting followers into supporters and participants into advocates.
Scheduled to launch March 28th 2020 the project was delayed due to COVID. In late September, BVO opened for private 1 hour blocks. What was supposed to be a 6 month run turned into a 2 month run. COVID greatly reduced the number of attendees that could participate. Nevertheless, Quadrant 360 ran from noon to midnight and was extended through November due to its popularity. Each run sold out completely. Over 4000 participants safely experienced the temporary installation selling close to 1000 t-shirts. Q360’s success was accomplished through word of mouth and social media, with zero advertising. The project fulfilled its objective establishing the community’s desire and support for a permanent large scale facility.
